Operation
Fenix HL45R headlamp operation:
On/off:
On: With the lamp locked, turn the rotary switch clockwise from “OFF” to any designated mode to unlock and turn on the lamp. With the lamp unlocked, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn on the lamp
Off: With the lamp switched on, turn the rotary switch counterclockwise to “OFF” to lock and turn off the lamp or press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn off the lamp.
Mode Switching:
With the lamp switched off, turn the rotary switch clockwise to cycle through Lock mode⇄White light mode⇄Red light mode.
Output Selection:
White light mode: With the lamp switched on, single click the electronic switch to cycle through Low→Med→High→Turbo.
Red light mode: In Red light mode, single click the electronic switch to cycle through Low→Med→High→Flash.
Gesture-sensing Function:
On: With the lamp switched off, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds, and the lamp will flash twice at the Low output of Red light mode, indicating that the function is enabled. Off: With the lamp switched off, press and hold the electronic switch for 6 seconds, and the lamp will flash eight times at the Low output of Red light mode, indicating that the function is disabled.
Gesture-sensing on/off:
With the lamp turned on and the gesture-sensing function enabled, wave your hand within the sensing range in front of the lamp to temporarily turn off the lamp, and wave your hand again to turn on the lamp and recall the last selected output.
With the lamp turned on and the gesture-sensing function disabled, it will not respond to any motion operation. *When the lamp is turned on and the gesture-sensing function is enabled, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds to turn off the lamp. After this action, it will not respond to any motion operation.
Note: 1. The sensing range is within about 3.94in/10cm in front of the lamp, and may vary slightly depending on the material and color of the sensing object, the ambient light, the brightness of the selected output, and the waving speed. 2. The gesture-sensing function is infrared sensing. If any other object besides your hand passes in front of the lamp within the sensing range, the lamp will also be turned on or off. 3. The gesture-sensing function can only turn the light on and off within the current lighting mode, and can neither change the mode nor the output. 4. When the gesture-sensing function is enabled, waving a hand will only turn off the lamp temporarily. At this time, the lamp is in a standby state, and power will still be consumed as the lamp actively awaits commands. If the lamp will not be used for an extended period turn the rotary switch to “OFF” to save battery power.
Intelligent Memory Circuit:
The lamp automatically memorizes the last selected output of each mode when users press and hold the electronic switch to turn on/off the lamp. When turned on again, the previously used output of the selected mode will be recalled.
Battery Replacement:
Open the rear battery door to insert the battery in accordance with the polarity marks, then close the battery door.
Charging:
1. Uncover the anti-dust cap and plug the USB Type-C side of the charging cable into the charging port of the lamp. 2. When charging, the indicators will flash from left to right to display the charging status. The four indicators will be constantly-on after charging is completed. 3. With the lamp switched off, the normal charging time of using a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5 V/1 A or above charging adapter.
Note: 1. Only Low outputs can be operated while charging. 2. Recharge a stored lamp every four months to maintain the optimum performance of the battery.
Battery level indication:
With the lamp switched off, single click the electronic switch to check the battery status. Single click once again and the indicator(s) will go out, or without any operation the indicator(s) will last for 3 seconds. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator(s) will show the current battery level and will last for 3 seconds.
Four lights on: 100% - 80% Three lights on: 80% - 60% Two lights on: 60% - 40% One light on: 40% - 20% One light flashes: 20% - 1% *Note: This feature only works with a Fenix ARB-LP1900 battery.
Intelligent Overheat Protection:
The lamp will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the lamp reaches a temperature of 55°C/131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature. When the temperature drops below 55°C/131°F, the lamp will gradually recall the preset output level.
Low-voltage Warning: When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, one of the battery level indicators blinks to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.
